Robert Brough, OAA, MRAIC, brings 35 years of experience in architecture to GBCA.  Upon joining GBCA in 2002, Rob took a major role in the delivery of several complex adaptive reuse projects such as the Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives (PAMA) in Brampton, the Provincial Offences Act Courts in Guelph, and the North Toronto Station LCBO, which won the OAA Award of Excellence in 2004.  Rob is now responsible for office operations and management.

Prior to joining GBCA, Rob was Assistant Director for Public Building Services for the former City of Scarborough, and was vice-president of the Hamilton firm, Anthony Butler Architect – a firm that specialized in institutional and heritage projects.  While in Hamilton, Rob served many years as a member of Hamilton’s Architectural Advisory Committee, once receiving the Ontario Heritage Federation Award for Outstanding Public Service.  In keeping with his interest and dedication to the field of heritage, Rob served as chair of Toronto’s Grange House Council, working with the Council and the Art Gallery of Ontario’s “Transformation” team to develop a more relevant and dynamic role for The Grange, and ensuring the integration of the historic landmark building into the gallery’s expansion.

Rob is a graduate of the School of Architecture at the University of Toronto.  He is a member of the Ontario Association of Architects (OAA), the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada, and the Toronto Society of Architects.
