Restoration involves accurately revealing, recovering or representing the state of an historic place or individual component as it appeared at a particular period in its history. This approach is taken not only on our museum projects, but also on some adaptive reuse projects where individual building components are restored based on substantial physical and documentary evidence. This service often takes the form of detailed technical specifications and drawings. GBCA also provides restoration services for objects separate from or associated with the built environment in which they are located, such as the restoration of historic bronze light standards.
