Amanda Sherrington, B.A., M.Sc., M.Arch, CAHP, is an Intern Architect at GBCA, where she assists heritage impact assessments, conservation plans and construction documents. Amanda conducts heritage research, undertakes condition assessments and prepares building documentation. In addition, she assists with project management, coordinating with clients and consultants.
Prior to joining GBCA in 2020, Amanda worked at the Heritage Conservation Directorate (Public Works and Government Services Canada) in Gatineau, Québec, where she assisted with the update of the Conservation Guidelines for the Supreme Court of Canada Building in Ottawa. She also worked at Historic Restoration Inc (assisting with the rehabilitation of the Tower Automotive Building/MOCA in Toronto) and at Taylor Hazell Architects (THA) in Toronto.
Amanda is a member of the Association for Preservation Technology (APT), the Comité International de la Photogrammétrie Architecturale (CIPA – a committee of ICOMOS), and Intern member of the Canadian Association of Heritage Professionals (CAHP). She currently volunteers on the Ontario Association of Heritage Professionals (OAHP)’s Communications, as well as Social and Educational Committees.
Amanda holds a B.A. in History and Theory of Architecture from Carleton University (2013), a M.Sc. in Conservation of Monuments & Sites from the Raymond Lemaire International Centre for Conservation at KU Leuven (2015), and a M.Arch from the University of Toronto (2020). Amanda is fluent in English and French.
