Christopher Borgal

Christopher Borgal, B. Arch., OAA, FRAIC, CAHP is Principal of Goldsmith Borgal & Company Ltd. Architects. Christopher has been a Principal of architectural practices for more than 25 years (Christopher Borgal Architect).

Christopher specializes in the restoration of historic buildings. His work has included designs for the use of museums, federal buildings, churches, multiple and single housing, galleries, theatres, libraries, offices and a lighthouse.

Christopher is a fellow of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC). He is past President of the Architectural Conservancy of Ontario (ACO) and has been a member since 1980, serving in various capacities, including two Vice-Presidency terms between 1997 and 2001. Memberships also include the Association for Preservation Technology (APT), Heritage Canada, ICOMOS Canada and a the Canadian Association of Heritage Professionals (CAHP). He was also involved with the Society for the Study of Architecture in Canada (1987-1994) as well as both the Canadian and Ontario Museum Associations (1983-1995).

Christopher has presented papers, training sessions and performed numerous lectures on Historic Architecture and Restoration to the APT, ACO, Canadian and Ontario Museum Association as well as the OAA. He has also lectured at a number of Universities including: Carleton University, Queen’s University, University of Guelph and the University of Waterloo.
