Leading the heritage recovery efforts in Goderich
![]() Chris Borgal is currently heading up the efforts to assist the historic town of Goderich with the restoration required following last week’s devastating tornado. Together with Eric Jokinen, the goal is to provide expert advice on how the seriously damaged heritage buildings can be stabilized (in the short term) and ultimately, restored, returning the town to its place as “the Prettiest Town in Canada.” For many years, Chris operated an architectural firm in Goderich, and was co-author (with Nick Hill) of the Heritage District Plan for Goderich. A generous gift from Marcy and John MacBain has resulted in the "EdgeFund" which will support the rebuilding of the town's heritage. For more on the fund and how to donate, see: http://edgefund.org/?page_id=48 Latest stories on the conservation efforts will be linked here. http://news.nationalpost.com/2011/09/09/photos-goderich-ontario-after-the-tornado/ http://www.lfpress.com/news/london/2011/08/28/18611061.html http://www.lfpress.com/news/london/2011/08/22/18587601.html |
